Evaluation of the lodging resistance and the selection of identification indexes of maize inbred lines

Abstract Lodging is one of the main problems affecting maize production. In this study, 220 inbred lines were used for determining lodging resistance. Analysis methods such as correlation analysis, principal component cluster stepwise discriminate and ridge regression analysis deployed data interpretation. The results showed that 17 characters correlated with varying degrees. Strong positive correlations between TID FID ( r = 0.910), TIL FIL 0.898), NSVB NLVB 0.775), ASVB ALVB 0.746), LC HC 0.656) observed. first six components explained 79.13% phenotypic variation characters, contribution rates being 20.77%, 18.12%, 14.09%, 11.17%, 8.66%, 6.32%, respectively. Five categories clustered in lines. result 211 correctly discriminated identification rate was 95.91%, 9 incorrectly 4.09%, which meant accurate reliable. stalk bending strength, ear height, cellulose content, number small vascular bundles, cross‐sectional area selected, model resistance established by using method. Thirty lines, including R1656, 4003, LD61, highest provide a reference selection lodging‐resistant germplasm resources breeding hybrids.
